Lily’s housing is long overdue for an upgrade, and I was thinking about getting her a pen or making a cube condo.  Problem, I’m not quite sure where to buy things like that.  So, any advice on who carries them and who has the best pricing?

I got my cubes from amazon. We got two packages from Target but more than half the cubes are too large (you want the holes to be 1.5 inches or less. Targets are 3).

Bed Bath & Beyond has good grids. If you aren’t near one, you can order them on amazon.

I know I’m repeating Jessie, but it bears repeating. DO NOT GO TO TARGET. They only carry their own brand, Room Essentials (RE,) which use wide spacing on half the grids to make them cheaper to manufacture (they charge the same amount for them as BB&B though.)

Thanks!  There is one in my area, so there shouldn’t be a problem if I decide to go with that.  Does anyone know where there are good pens though?

Pet stores carry the dog exercise pens (usually just abbreviated ‘xpens’). If you want to go that route, minimum height required is 36 inches tall. I have the Midwest brand “walk-through” xpen (two actually). It includes a door in one panel that you can use to walk in and out to clean, feed, etc…

I prefer xpens personally. Less work to build (they’re already assembled, you just unfold it) and they can easily be folded up for storage. A cube condo would need to be taken apart.

You might also try an Amazon search for xpens. Sometimes you can get a good price on there with free shipping. I paid $75 per xpen (back in 2008) at Petsmart, but I’ve seen them online for about $50-60.
