A must read for all animal lovers, not just bun lovers, especially those who aren’t on at least a vegetarian diet, but considering it.

It was posted on Facebook by Bunnies Require Rights Scotland, and I thought I would share Wiseman’s story.

My sister in law is a strict vegan and me and my wife try our hardest, but there are just some things we’re struggling to do without…
Mainly, just the odd good bit of cheese… Don’t touch eggs… In my eyes, eggs aren’t vegetarian at all… And this “Chick Macerator” machines at hatcheries… It just makes me so angry…
            I know dairy isn’t much better… But we’re doing our best so far… :/

I could go without eggs myself. I do love dairy though.

I think, one of the things about Wiseman’s story that is most upsetting, is that, a TON of other buns, that are kept in hutches at the bottom of gardens and in sheds that rarely see any enrichment are, mentally, in he same boat. People that just don’t understand how active and mentally curious buns are.

And people who wanted an animal they could pick up and cuddle, as soon as they realised the rabbit isn’t like that, they’re left in bun limbo… It’s just so depressing…

I understand rabbits just fine, I have four, but I’m not going vegetarian any time soon lol. Most factory farms don’t really bother me.

I don’t like factory farms. They are cruel. That being said, I have had to sort of get over it. Doesn’t make it any less sad. Part of my job is preparing food for animals though. Everything is ordered from somewhere, except for donations. I feel bad, but I have no control over it.

The bunny in the story sounds like such a sweetie.

Although I can’t agree with it, we have animals who are obligated carnivores… So, obviously, the meat has to come from somewhere…
                        It’s just so depressing…

And, on a slightly different note…
I found this clip, about dairy cows that were being saved from slaughter…
Their reaction to being let out into the paddock in spring was amazing… reminds me so much of buns and their binkies!…

                          Aww, I love cows! They’re cute. =)

Yep, there’s no denying that certain animals have to eat meat. Their food comes from somewhere. Not that I’m really a vegetarian though. I would like to, but my husband would never allow it. LOL He’s a meat man. It is helpful knowing where your meat comes from though. There are some nice ranchers where I live that raise their cows completely grass-fed. So they are out in a pasture for most of their life.

Egg production is terrible too. I was reading the comment above. There are a lot of free-range eggs at the farmers market though.
