Hi! I have had a BB account for a while now, but I haven’t really gone on. So I will introduce myself and my bunnies.

I’m Mary, I am a teenager, I have YouTube account called Hamster Munchies, where I do hamster and rabbit care videos, and I have a hamster named Cloud, and two sister bunnies.

Socks and Daisy are my two rabbits, and they were born in an “accidental” litter (I don’t really like that word…) and there were four others of them! I basically raised them on my own, because their mother abandoned them when they were about 2 weeks old. After that, i hand raised them and I became sort of their “mother.” They put all of their trust into me, and I took care of them.

After re-homing their brothers and sisters, I focused more of my attention at Socks and Daisy, who were now almost three months old! We were originally only going to keep Socks because we thought she was male, and my mom thought it was “cruel” to neuter her. But then we found out that little Socks was a girl, so we kept Daisy. Their fluffy little bodies were always in my lap, and I have loved them with all of my heart ever since the day they were born.

Since I’m pretty new around here, any information to help me around the forum would be much appreciated. Thanks!

          Hi Hamster Munchies!
          It’s NewHammyMama from Hamster Hideout!

Does your mom not want to spay your rabbits because she thinks it will be painful for them?
Female rabbits have an %80 of getting reproductive cancers by age 2. That’s a lot more painful than the operation! (Plus you should get pain meds after the spay, so they won’t be in much pain at all.)

We would be more than happy to help you get around the forum, ask all the questions you need.

            Welcome to the forum!
Words of wisdom there from LongEaredLions, I got my 6 month old baby girl spayed and her uterus was ALREADY pre-cancerous, at 6 months of age! Sadly reproductive cancers are very common in female buns unless they are spayed, my vet said I would have lost her probably within 3 months if I hadn’t had her spayed She wasn’t in much pain at all after the op either, just ate lots of herbs, spoilt girl!

Any questions, just post on the forum and someone will definitely get back to you x

Hi! It’s nice to know that someone I know is on here! Ok I am still trying to convince my mom, but she thinks it’s “cruel” because they’re altering them or whatever. Also, she refuses to pay for it, even if I did get them spayed, and she won’t let my dad either, so I have to save up my own money and get it done. Could I do them one at a time? Thanks!

You can spay them one at a time, they would just have to be kept separated until both are done and healed.
