        Hi

Suddenly my rabbit has been digging at one corner of the cage at night.and its very distracting while trying to sleep. I was wondering why she does this and what I can do to help minimize it. Any tips please? Also when she is out of her cage she circles my legs digs at them and nibbles my pant legs.

Sounds like she is going through the teenage stage. How old is she? Is she spayed?

Ah the joy of pets in the bedroom! Sounds like a really friendly bunny hopping around your legs. Mine does that too, mostly with people he has really grown to like. And he chews. clothes or anything else he can get hold of, the little munch monster!

Rabbits do like to dig, so I’m thinking it’s normal behavior, even if it’s new. But people with more bunnies might have a different idea. I’ll be interested to hear.

              Spaying her might help.

I have outdoor carpeting in my rabbit’s cage and it’s not very noisy when they dig at it. I take out any noisy toys (like the cardboard box, that’s always noisy when they tear at it) at night time.

I used to have a different bun, Tank, in my room, and he was determined to make noise. Some noises were easier to sleep through than others–if I could distract him with lots of hay and toilet paper rolls to chew on, that didn’t bother me–but digging into the carpet is really loud and distracting. Digging into newspapers is quieter–maybe give her something to shred.

Yeah mine did that, too. I don’t know how she knew, but RIGHT when I was about to pass out she would make as much noise digging as possible. It was annoying, but I think just a phase, if I recall correctly.

When circling, does your little one make a sort of honking sound? From what I’ve read thus far, it’s the sound that she is ready to have little bunnies if you catch my drift. Mine does it all the time, as well as the nibbling. Sometimes she’ll nibble at me because I’m in her way of something. Usually it’s for attention, though. As much attention as I give her, it’s not enough, haha. Wouldn’t have it any other way, though.

Edit: It seems that rabbits are more active during the wee hours and late night I believe. It’s just their ways, being predatory and all. I edited so I won’t have excessive add ons to this post, I hope it’s okay.
