        Hey everybody,

I’m just curious if anyone has ever heard of cataracts going away before? I didnt know it was even possible. When we got ellie she was three or so months old and had cataracts in her left eye. This could be for a number of reasons such as a birth defect, nutrient defiency (her previous owner was feeding her nothing but pellets), physical trauma (from being in a cage with atleast three other rabbits) or an infection because the cage hadn’t been cleaned for three weeks. In late December, her eye was mostly a whitish blue. Now, its less than a month later, (I’ve been starting to give her handfuls of veggies each day which might be why the change was so sudden) her eye is brown and you can barely tell the difference between her good eye and her bad one. This is wonderful news, I’m just not sure if she can see better or not.

The top pic looks totally normal. In the bottom one, I can see the blue circle. Not sure if it’s just the light or the angle? Are these both from the same day?

No the bottom one was last month and the top one is from today. Her eye actually looked like that, there’s nothing wrong with the photo

Hmmm… It does look better. I honestly don’t really know much about cataracts. I’m curious to read what other responses you get…

The older picture definitely has the classic cataract appearance. This is -really- interesting! I’ve never heard of cataracts getting better on it’s own. With how fast this change has happened, I’m wondering if nutrition was the key. I must do some research now! I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread! hehe

Could it just have been a minor hay poke that healed up on its own?
