Ok guys sorry.. last post for the night. My breeder was treating the litter I bought my boy from with Ivermectin. She said she was just doing it as a precaution. Should I be concerned? Do I need to do this? What are symptoms of worms. I read that it can be common for rabbits to get them. Thanks all

Ummmm….. I personally haven’t heard of a rabbit having worms? Or anyone treating their bun for them. Got me buggered? Hopefully someone who actually knows will jump into your forum and can let us BOTH know. Cheers Caitlyn – sleep well.

Any time you get a new pet, the best thing to do is take them to a savvy vet for a wellness exam. Get a fecal test done, that will tell you if your bun has worms.

And yes, buns can get worms, usually from contact with the feces of an infected animal, like other bunnies, raccoons, cats, dogs, etc.

I have had a rabbit with pinworms and coccidia so yes as MB suggested you need to get a fecal test done.

Sorry, do you mind me asking – what are the symptoms/signs of a bunny having worms? Cheers, Henry’s mum.

We have already been to the vet! lol. she gave me the thumbs up and said he looked great. should I give them a poop sample anyway? I see absolutely no worms in there and his poops are very normal.

Did the vet do a fecal exam? If not then I would definitely get one done.
