Hi. I am new to this forum but I have snooped around in the past. I have a year and a half old neutered male standard rex. His name is Murphy. Murphy is a rescue. I got him when he was 6 months old. He is a sweetheart but has wicked temper tantrums. He lives alone with me and has free reign of my apartment. He is my second rabbit. My first one died last year at 8 years old. Murphy is very healthy and active. He is litter trained and never goes outside of his box in his hutch. Sometimes when he is out playing he will go to this one spot in my kitchen and pee even though there is a litter box 3 feet away. He has no bladder infection etc…

I am wondering why he keeps peeing in this one spot and how on earth do I stop it. If I catch him he will look at me, flick his head, and then run to his litter box lol

        Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

When I saw the title UI popped up but based what you said..

Have you tried the tips on the front page of this site?

The Cloth Trick to help minimize TERRITORIAL marking: A member posted about this in the forum, and I have also seen this on the show “Barking Mad”. Rub a cloth all over your bunny, then rub the cloth on the area he likes to mark. The idea is that s/he will no longer feel the need to spread his scent around if it’s already there. The few people that have tried this have said it works. Note: Territorial marking is very difficult to eliminate completely if your bunny is not spayed/neutered.

Hmm well first i would clean it up with vinegar and water then do ^ that.

You could also try Vinegar and water then put a box or something to play in.

Another tip on the litterbox site here said something about laying in the spot he goes on as you watch him in his free roam.

I would agree with peony’s tips! Also possibly move the litterbox to that spot or get another litterbox and put it there? Sometimes bunnies just want to use the spot THEY pick (As they are the master and you are the slave lol)
