I have an un-fixed male netherland dwarf rabbit. I think it is too late to get him fixed and currently is not in our budget to do so at a non-shady place. I have read that if rabbits do not participate in “sexual activity” they will get some kind of an infection in their reproducive sysytem and in order to avoid it, rabbits should mate. Should i get him a partner?

Bunnies do not get an infection from not breeding and you should not get him a partner to breed with.

How old is your rabbit? It’s likely that he’s still able to get fixed. I would talk to a rabbit savvy vet if you want to go that route. If you don’t want to neuter than he should continue his life as a single bunny.

That is definitely a myth – he doesn’t need a partner. It’s possible that females who breed are at less risk of reproductive cancer, but there’s nothing like that for males.

How old is he? He’s probably not too old to be neutered. Have you called around and looked at prices?

Males can get testicular cancer too. I had a rabbit die of it.
