I just wanted to share what ‘works’ for me. I got tired of the usual hay feeders because they would just spill out the hay from all sides and then there was never ending cleanup.   I found a small rabbit/guinea pig hutch at a yard sale(I’m not a yard-sale-r type but as I was driving by I saw it! ) for the price of $13.00. Awesome. I figured it would be off some use for the buns, so I bought it. After sanding off the rough edges, I put it in the rabbit pen and decided on using it for a sleeping house. I just took off the front door and put it into storage for something else I might need it for(yeah……what would I use it for anyways? Well you never know).

The rabbits were still using hay feeders at the time, and then I got the great idea of filling it with hay. Now it’s a huge hay feeder for all the bunnies. Our two guinea pigs are using the hay feeders now while the buns have the huge hay filled hutch. Well, not really huge. Using it as a hay feeder, it’s big. As a cage(yipe!!) not so much…. I may look for another for the other bunny cage! These work great and there are no hay messes.

That’s a really awesome idea Daisybunz!

I actually don’t use a hay rack at all I just toss hay directly in the litter box. Lol. But if I find some cheap small cages I’ll have to give this a try.

I hope you don’t mind but I copied and re-sized your signature as it’s just a little bit too large (100 pixels high X 500 pixels wide max).

If you right click the image above and save it you can replace your current one.

Sounds awesome – post a picture – I’m curious what it looks like and cannot picture it my mind.

Right now I can’t upload a picture, sorry. I’ll try ASAP, but our rabbit chewed up our camera cord that plugs into the computer, so I’m not promising anything. (At least I don’t have to worry about many of you not understanding, you probs have been through that before. ) Destruct-o-bun!
