Belle aka female rabbit just humped on my other rabbit’s head (Romeo) and peed on him. This is my first time to see that. I’m sure it already happened few times when I wasn’t paying attention or wasn’t in the same room. That would explain why there were stiffed fur on Romeo’s head.

Belle is kind of rabbit who tend to hump on other rabbit for food only. Like if she assume that I give treat to Romeo. She will come to Romeo and hump him. I always push Belle off Romeo’s head/back.

Today, Belle thought I am about to give treat but I didn’t. I just want to pet Romeo (Belle don’t like to be touched). So Belle came to Romeo and humped him. Romeo didn’t bother to move. AND I didn’t bother to gently push Belle away. I thought it would be nice to know if they did actually have fight while I wasn’t in the room. Then Belle hopped away. Romeo came after her and asked for groom…. while there’s pee stain on his head. That’s how I discovered for the first time.

Mind you, they are already fixed and have been together for TWO years.

But why pee on head? I didn’t find anything from google search.

I don’t know… Maybe she was humping and just had to pee? Is she normal otherwise: eating, pooping, peeing? She doesn’t seem to be straining to pee or having any other accidents? Was it a lot of pee or just a dribble?

I agree with Beka, it was probably just an accident. I read that besides asserting dominance, fixed rabbits will hump a lot if they aren’t feeling well. If Belle is acting normally otherwise and has really good litter habits, then I wouldn’t worry about it. But if she allows handling, you could check her underside to make sure everything is looking normal down there.

Belle sounds a lot like my Emilee. She tends to hump her bonded male’s head all the time too, but it’s so dangerous when a rabbit’s genitals are so close to another’s mouth. One bite and OUCH! We usually push her off or towards Nugget’s butt, but that always leads to chasing and them jumping over each other. =[

LOL, My rabbit has done this. He’s peed on my other male rabbit TWICE, once on his head and once just kind of ON him.

I’m not sure if it’s an accident or not, since it’s been twice, but it’s harmless. Just kinda gross.

This can be typical of bonded buns sometimes. I have to come to believe (through bonding and such) that it’s a way they exert dominance over the other bunny when they feel their dominance is being compromised in some way. LOL.

It can definitely be normal, albeit gross, behavior. Jack would hump and then top it off with a lovely spray — all over Rucy (and then later Viv when she became his bonded mate). They were’t impressed. I have read that wild bunnies do this for two reasons — one as an aggressive move (usually when two males are acting aggressive) or when they are claiming something (including another bunny). So because she humps him and then pees on him, it sounds like typical bunny behavior. However, if you notice that she loses her bladder elsewhere as well, then that could be a health issue, but as of now, it seems like it is just a behavioral reaction, not a health related one.

I forgot to add.  Jack always did this too if Viv was getting food (or pets). I had to make sure to give Jack food and attention equally or he’d hump Viv,   If that didn’t seem to be working then he’d hop away, and then come back around and run by and spray us both.  Yuck!
