i need help… again… my bunnyboy had ons big normal wee this morning and then one that was milky! almost looks lik paint! he isnt acting strange, he is eating drinking and all seems normal! his pee after that(he usually pees about 3 times during morning playtime) was almost normal again-mostly clear with a little white. should i be worried? he ha eaten more pellets than usual cause he discovered where i stash his pellets(eats them outa the bag-its very qt) the search i did suggests it might be a large amount of calcium? pellets, hay and a mixture of spinash, red/mustard lettuce, carrots and parsley… are all he eats and he drinks a lot! i did switch him over to purified water yesterday? should i reduce the pellets?(he is under 7 months and should be getting lots of pellets and unlimited hay?)

Rabbits shed calcium via urination so the milkyness could be a result of more calcium in his diet. It’s good and normal for a rabbit to shed excess calcium this way. The only time it becomes a problem is when/if a rabbit has bladder stone or sludge issues. This is not caused by dietary intake though. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about unless you see really thick chalky urine on a regular basis.

Parsley, Mustard Greens and Spinach should not be fed on the same days (don’t know if you are, just figured I’d mention that). They are high in oxalates and should be rotated, 1 type per day. I would read the article and check out the list here for more info on that:

Ok! That’s good news! I read the article! Thanx! I give one a day… With either carrots or apple or craisins as a treat. He mostly eats hay(2 different types) and pellets with timothy hay base! I do give him the red lettuce everyday with one of the others… Its on the 2nd list of veg… That ok? I started inroducing greens 12days ago, so 1 every 3 days today will be mint/ basil… Which is best? Or can you suggest something better?

That sounds alright. Some staples in my bunnies diet are Romaine Lettuce and Kale. Kale is higher in calcium but low in oxalates but again calcium is a bigger problem for bunnies with bladder sludge/stone issues. Carrots are a non-leafy green so you want to follow the guidelines for them (on the site I mentioned above). Generally I think you want to work up to at least 3 leafy type greens a day.
