  Hi! I’m new here and after a lot of googling I thought I might just sign up here and see if anyone else can help me haha. I have a 5 m/o bunny and lately he’s been making a weird noise. Sounds like it’s coming from his nose, it’s not a snorting noise but sounds like snoring sort of. He’s eating well, and he’s still as snuggly as ever but I really am getting worried about this sound haha. I’m wondering if he’s chewed something and its bothering him or maybe he smells something weird? Ahhh I really don’t know so I thought I’d ask here.

  I think you are describing the sounds hormonal bunnies make when they are happy/excited. It’s not anything to be worried about, but if your bunny is not neutered I would suggest it to prevent worse behaviors that could begin with maturity. My male lop is neutered and when he’s very happy he still makes that sound and occasionally circles our feet. I think it’s cute

  Rabbits make that sound when happy/excited and also the sound they do for mating

  Yea he’s not neutered yet, will be doing that soon! But yes, it probably is honking!! I thought I was going crazy because I only seemed to hear it when he came right up to my face haha. Thanks for the helps you guys

  Is it a vhoo noise? Our bun, Loki did that to my dad before he was neutered. It is a mating noise. Does he do it to just one person?

  Yes! Its a very soft sort of humming. Its not even very loud. But yea he only really does it when I let him out for floortime and when I’m with him, sitting down.
