My rabbit took a bite of a wrapped piece of chocolate. He didn’t get much, but he swallow a small amount of chocolate and the foil. I’m really worried but my dad says to just watch him and take him to the vet if he starts acting weird..

I doubt something that small can cause real harm, but good to keep an eye on him just incase.

I would be more worried about the foil than the chocolate. Just make sure he’s eating his hay so it can pass through his system safely. Only worry if he stops eating/pooping or is showing signs of pain.

For the small amount I too wouldn’t be concerned – my boy has eaten worse, doh!

My boys have also eaten worse, like half a rubber-ball, serious chunks of a leather week-end bag ( a really good bag). Keep an eye on the workings of his tummy. Hay and water is the best remedy.

Blossom ate half the bunny room window fly screen… This too shall pass.

i think the main danger from chocolate is the stimulant effect it has on their already fast beating hearts.
after a day the caffeine is metabolized out of their system and they’re in the clear

Mordecai is doing great, no changes in his habits.

For such sensitive digestive tracks, bunnies are adventurous eaters! One time I walked into the room and saw that my bun had eaten a 6 by 6 square inch piece of carpet! He was fine.

Like the others, my rabbit has eaten bad things and was fine. Half a rubber ball, carpet and recycle bag. Most of the time I was able to catch him in time.
From your post it seems like it’s been a couple days. If he’s not showing signs of distress at this point (still eating & pooping), you are most likely in the clear.
Funny, but off topic a bit… I let Ziggy smell a piece of chocolate and he was NOT impressed. He even kicked his feet at me when he hopped away. lol!! The only reason I let him smell it, is because he’s nosey and always wants to smell what I’m eating. Weirdo.

I threw one of my dogs a Macca’s (MacDonalds) chip and Henry got it – “yum” he said! Naughty bunny! My aim has improved since, no more chippies for Henry. He he he….

Your rabbit is going to be fine. My boy has eaten wood before and he is fine.

I think all of our bunny’s have probly gotten into worse, but they usually always seem to be fine. Lulu managed to find a small bag of chocolate covered peanuts that was quite hidden. Needless to say her little face smelled like a Reese’s cup for a few days

My boy tries to eat everything that isn’t nailed down. I got really worried the first few times but he never seems to have had any problems.
