Bam has peed on my mother’s hard-wood (oak) floor. It’s an oiled floor, not laquered. I’d be very grateful on any tips on removal or, more likely, for making the stain less visible. We’ve poured baking-powder on it, then we made a paste of baking-powder and water and let it sit for 30 minutes. Now we are thinking of borax.

How do you handle pee-stains? It’s not in a place where it’s easily covered with a rug.

Why he suddenly decided to pee outside his box is not known. He seems very happy here, we’ve been here for like 2 weeks now and he’s free roam on the down-stairs floor although he has his cage to seek refuge in if he wants to, it’s always open.

I feel your panic bam and I was all set to give you suggestions for – carpet! (then I read the rest of your forum) Doh! Hardwood floors aren’t big here in Australia (well, not that I know of), so have no idea. I get your wanting to put it right for your mum (I was in the same situation, but dog piddle at the time) and know how you feel. I’m sorry I can’t help out. Let me know if bam pee’s on the carpet – I’m super good with that!

And Henry: We’re not really panicking, but the stain is ugly. The floor will have to be re-sanded. I just feel bad because my mother has taken me and the bunnies and dog in because of my stupid foot, so it’s not very nice of me to thank her by having my rabbit pee on her floor. I’m bringing him home with me tonight. Just thought somebody may have some kind of remedy to try. The floor is pretty much ruined anyway.

Jersey: Thanks! I’ll absolutely try peroxide!

AndHenry: Don’t be sorry =) It’s just that my family is past panicking over stuff that pets get up to. F ex, when my dog was a puppy she pooped big time on a bright red carpet in my mother’s living-room on Christmas Eve.

Oh my – chrissy eve? Bad timing hey…. (frazzled face).
My mum loved (she isn’t with me any longer (sad face)) my pets – but in my home, not hers. ha hah!
I truly hope the peroxide works – good luck! Your mum sounds amazing (translated – very tolerant).

AndHenry, in my dog’s defense, she was 10 weeks old when she did that. My mum is way more tolerant to pets than to people =) I’m sorry that your mum isn’t with you anylonger.

We’ve put peroxide on part of the stain now.

I’ve got my finger’s, toes and eyes crossed that the peroxide works.
Ten weeks old! My dog was 5 ‘years’ at the time (naughty girl) and I cleaned it up so well she never knew (chuckle under my breath) (but I reckon she did – bloody mother’s know everything! Lol!). Thank you for your kind words for my mum.
Wishing you, your MUM, yohio, bam and your veggie stealer dog a very Merry Christmas! Cheers.

I’ve never been able to get pee stains out of the floors her. Sorry x( I think that sanding and retsaining might be your only option.
