Has anyone calculated the price difference in the xpen panels vs the C&C panels? I want to run something around the outer wall of the bunny room just to keep the bun from being able to chew the molding/walls. Since he is new I am not sure if he would even try it but I don’t want to find out. Just wondering if anyone else has figured out the cheapest option for this before I try to figure it out . If you have other ideas for something that would be even cheaper (but not look a total mess) I would love to hear them!

Depends on how high you’re wanting it to go around the wall. This is all just off the top of my head. NIC are 14″ each all around and most X-Pen Panels are 24″ wide and of varying heights. On Amazon a 24″ tall pen is about $36 dollars and a set of 4 cube NIC’s are about $22.

With the NIC’s you get 16 grids to work with. If you did 14″ high (one grid) all the way around one box would give you approx 18ft. If you wanted to do two grids high then you would get approx 9ft. That would be $1.22 – $2.44 per ft. A 24″ tall X Pen has 8 24″ inch wide panels and would give you 16ft to work with and would cost approx $2.25 per ft. But this is based on Amazon prices and would be different depending on whether you buy locally or online/find better deals/etc…

I usually get everything off Amazon (we have prime). Thanks so much for the measurements! I could not find the width for the nic panels!

If you’re just protecting the molding, I think the NIC grids will be the best bet. Keep in mind that you will likely need a spacer between the grids and the baseboards. Long 2×4 boards cut to size would work well for this. Otherwise, the rabbit can push the grids in and still nibble on the baseboards.
