I got up to go into the kitchen and take some medicine/drink some water and when I approached Mako suddenly started running wildly around the room and thumping repeatedly… She seemed very freaked out… Next thing I know I hear Waldo doing the same thing from the other room! What on earth happened? They’ve never reacted that way to me walking into the kitchen before…

Porky will do this in response to things happening outside. Last time he did it, we found a dead wild rabbit in the street near us the next morning. They can smell and hear stuff outside we don’t, like foxes.

Sometimes Hannah gets spooked. Not quite this bad, but we’ll walk in and she’ll get wide eyed and scrambled to hide for no apparent reason. Sometimes I think she heard something that startled her, and then us coming into the room is like the final straw.

I live by a freeway, and always leave my windows open because buddy loves cold air. Noises from outside used to freak him out but it just took a bit before getting used to it.

Waldo might have been triggered by Mako, or heard/smelt the same thing just a little later than Mako. They can definitely hear things we can’t; Merida will sometimes sit up suddenly, ears perked up and eyes slightly bugged, and it takes 15 seconds for me to hear the jingle of keys and someone coming into the apartment building.

The other day – my husband was singing and making clicking sounds….and the buns got totally freaked out, took off and thumped in the living room! LOL! He’s always singing – so they must not have liked the clicking sound. A few hours later, when it was time for bed, I tried to get Baxter back in the man cave, and he just refused to go. We had to use the Xpen to block his escape routes, to get him back in the room. Bunnies are so funny sometimes.
