A few months ago my first pet rabbit passed away and I haven’t really thought of getting another until recently..I decided to get my budget under control and show my parents that I can do it and blahblahblah…It was supposed to take a few weeks at least BUT yesterday I saw a local craigslist ad for this rabbit and had to go take him…He as free and I do have my budget planned and such.

I’m not sure of how old he is since the man didn’t know, his daughter(college age) got him and then moved away without taking care of him so the father decided to give him away.He was living in a small pet carrier…which is what got me.Not sure for how long, all I knew was I needed to get him out of there. The guy was nice, just didn’t sign up for having a rabbit and didn’t want him anymore.

I got the bun home and let him walk out of the cage which didn’t take long, he is very curious as of now.I did pick him up to see if he had any sore hocks or anything, he had no bedding at the bottom of the cage, just hay, not sure if that can cause sore hocks or any problems but I just wanted to know everything is okay.So far his legs and bum look fine, they were just SOAKED with urine and had some poop stuck to him.I wiped him down a bit then let him settle in his cage.I will be getting him to a vet as soon as I can to get him neutered for sure, since he is very much a boy haha.

Here he is!He doesn’t have a name as of right now. :c

This is the carrier he was in:

I will get more pictures today(:

What a gorgeous bun! Looks very similar to our bunnh Jake who passed away this summer.

I’m so glad you’ve taken him away from a home that was not prepared for a bunny.
It’s wonderful to see an innocent bun getting another chance at a happy life. Jake was a rescue bunny and it was lovely to watch him learn to trust us and learn to love playing. Will never forget his first binky!

Good luck with this little man, let us know when you’ve picked out a name!

Thanks you two!I’m so happy I got to save him from the home.I kind of…went against the whole let him settle down for a few days/week, only because he kept biting the nic grids and pulling/pushing them.I also found out I need to make a top to his cage. For right now he has a sheet over the top so he doesn’t jump out.

He has done wonderfully so far.He has started nipping though, randomly outside the cage obviously when I go to clean up his poops in his cage.Hopefully bonding will help with that a little bit then the neuter will help more.He really enjoys being out of his cage, as soon as I opened up his cage yesterday he hopped right out and then hesitated a little to get a feel of the rest of my room but after about five minutes he was all over the place! He follows me up on my bed as well which is so cute, except for him having an accident in my bed.He also had another accident today, but I expected that since he isn’t neutered. In his cage he pees in his litter box though(:

Also!I think we have a name and it is…..THEO!I also call him Theobun and Theodore, but mostly Theobun. I feel like Theo is a common name people name their animals…but I just can’t stay away from the name so he is officially a Theo.

He is also very interested in my guinea pigs and also likes to sit up on his hind legs to look at my bearded dragon tank.
