        Hi!! I need some help.

we have a 1 year old mini lop who is an indoor and housetrained bun.

lately he has taking to peeing on the lounge ONLY when alone with my boyfriend.

putting him in time out doesn’t seem to be working…. Any reason why he may be doing this and not when my sister or I are home??

also, what’s the best way to fix the problem???

        thanks!!

Is he neutered ? It could be a territorial/hormonal thing if he has not been desexed.

              Rabbits don’t understand time out…

Peeing on the couch is normal for rabbits because it smells like their humans. You have to not allow him on the couch that is the only way he will not do this.

                Thanks guys.

We had him neutered as soon as he was old enough and is has only been the last few months he has begun doing this. And like I said, only when my boyfriend is on the couch!

The alpha male comment makes sense. He also doesn’t give kisses or ‘groom’ us like our last bun.

I just posted about this on another post but it was sort of an after thought so I will just post in here too
I had that same problem too. I was able to put a stop to it by being persistent for months about not letting him on the couch. As soon as he looked up and was prepping to jump, I would stop him and say no. If he jumped up, he would be immediately shooed off. I would pile up pillows to block him when I couldn’t watch him for a moment. Over time he just seemed to get that he wasn’t allowed. And then a couple years later I actually tried to see if he would come up on the couch and not pee. I actually put him up there a couple of times and he wanted no part of it. He’d jump right off. So he went from a bunny that would freely jump on the couch and pee and chew to avoiding it all together. Some bunnies do just fine and its great but for those that persist to pee and or chew, sometimes restricting access is the only solution.
