Georgia was attacked by a dog last Tuesday. She suffered a heart attack from the shock, and died in my arms. She was only 9 months old. I am so, so sad. She was going to get spayed on the 25th of Oct. We buried her on Tuesday, and I have visited her every day. I am very sad, but am going to get a new bunny at the end of Oct., to help heal this hole in my heart. You know the song by Passenger “Let her go”? That’s what I’m feeling. That I should’ve spent more time with her, and gave her more TLC. But now she’s gone. How can I stop feeling so sad and think of the happy memories? It’s hard though, because she was so young.

        I Love You Georgie Poo

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope the dog wasn’t your own, or one that you see regularly. It’s a reminder to us all that rabbits and dogs are natural predators and prey, so must be supervised. There was nothing you could do, of course, but it helps to learn what to be mindful of when making a home for any bunny.

Of course you miss her. They are so tiny and delicate that heart failure is actually fairly common in young bunnies. Please remember that you gave her a lot of love and a good home in her short life. Your next bunny will be thankful to belong to you, and Georgia knows that you are not replacing her in your heart.
Maybe a local rescue will have a little bunny that needs to be adopted and can be given a loving home with you.

Oh dear, I am so sorry to read your post. I hope healing vibes sent on this board provide some comfort from your grief. Thanks for sharing the song. It reminds me of another song loosely translated as …

Don’t know why, this happens with life
              Suddenly this mind
After someone is gone, remembers his
little little things, I don’t know why …

              Binky free Georgia!
