        So!

My silly old bum used to be in a cage like this (only without the shelf – his previous owners got it secondhand).

It was way too small for him to be in all day when I was out at uni, so I got him a new one!

A huuuuge dog crate which looks a lot bigger when it's fully set up than I realised from the measurements on the website, haha

Yesterday my housemate got his hacksaw out and made me a little shelf, and we put it all together! It took a bit of trial and error to find the best place for the shelf, and he still prefers having the toaster box to step up onto it. After a little uncertainty about the new pad, he seems pretty happy.

        Tiny boy, huge house!

Great that you made his pad bigger! But even with the bigger cage, remember he still needs ‘out’ time every day! Looks great though – good job!

Don’t worry, bunnygirl, he’s got free range of the kitchen and living room, and is out of his cage more than he’s in! Even on days when I’m at uni for 9 hours, he gets at least 3 hours playtime in the evening

              That’s a cute little spot.

Love the idea of using a dog crate as a bunny cage. I never thought of this idea before. I have been looking around the forum to get ideas on types of cages and setups because me bunny is starting to out grow hers.

What did you use as the shelf and how did you attach it?

Your bun is so cuuuute! Love the little stockings :3

We bought an ordinary wooden wall shelf at the DIY store, cut it down to size with a hacksaw, and hammered some nails with big heads in at appropriate places. (It’s now covered with carpet too so he has a soft spot to hang out).
