Rufus has been scratching a bit lately and shaking his head when he runs a bit. The vet checked for fleas and mites (under a microscope) and says he's all clear and he couldn't see why he would be itchy.

He's going through his first gian moult right now and has a big dark patch of shorter fur on his back and a ridiculous half face of summer fur and half face of winter fur (I think it looks like a huge moustache).  I brush him and give him a once over with the lint roller every two days or so. I was wondering it the moulting could be what's making him a bit more itchy? It's not a big deal or anything, I'm just curious if anyone else has observed this. I only asked the vet since he was getting vaccinated, just something I think I'm seeing a little more than normal.

Starsky did a fair bit of scratching when he went through his Mega Moult recently so I would say it is definitely a contributing factor… Coming into Spring here is a good time to treat for fleas and parasites though… They may not be immediately evident yet which is why it is a good tie to get them before they mature and start there reproductive cycle.. I got my Revolution P&K shipment this week so all bunnies will be done regardless… An ounce of prevention as they say.

I hadn’t thought of doing preventative flea/parasite treatment. May I ask where you ordered the Revolution from?

Hi Rufus, I get it off Ebay… There are a couple of suppliers in QLD and NSW that have it between $10 and $20 cheaper than the vets or stores and they can post free by flattening the box and putting in a standard padded envelope.
