I noticed last night just before going to bed, Mimzy had her left eye half closed & the other was fine. When I looked at it, it seems that she has something in it. It's worse today, she will hardly open it at all today, it's swollen & there is dry kind of red crust on the edge. I don't know if it's dry blood or something from scratching? She's so irritated by it that she's getting mad & lunging at me easily. Does anyone know if there's anything I can do for her until I can hopefully get her in the vet tomorrow?

Mimzy & Bunny get separate play times. Mimzy gets mad & constantly bites the cage bars when Bunny is out & antagonizes her (he runs up to her cage & runs away for fun) He hasn't gotten any play time today but should I keep them both in their cage until she sees a vet just so she can get rest? She's eating normal, everything else is fine, she's just scratching a lot & very angry.

I'd post a pic but I guess the pictures aren't working right now =/

Could you get ahold of any saline solution to flush the eye? That is the only thing I can think of besides get to the vet ASAP.

Yes! I took her to the vet on Monday & turns out she had a piece of hay in her eye. He said it was the sheeth, like the covering for the seed of the hay. They got it out & gave me some ointment to apply to her eye 3 times a day for 10 days. Her eye is already looking better!

After they took it out, you could tell she was instantly relieved She's opening it all the way now & swelling has gone down. She never let me hypnotize her before so I was actually kind of worried how I was going to get her to let me put the ointment in but it's been a success! She's been so good about it Thank you for checking up on her!

Glad that’s taken care of. So nice when it’s just a simple solution like that.
