So I've been slowly bunny proofing my house room by room. I started in the living room, where our chimney is. He has decided to lick between the bricks on the base of the chimney. It looks like the concrete between the bricks is starting to flake off a little but and he's been eating it I stopped him as soon as I noticed it and put something over the spot so he could'nt get to it anymore. What do I do? Does he need a salt lick or something? Also should I be worried for his health?

I read that uncured cement dust is toxic but cured isnt. This cement, or mortor is 30+ years old. I also read up to make sure mortor doesn't contain any lead. Which thankfully it doesnt.

Bunnies can get obsessed with weird things and they really don’t seem to have any idea about what is good for them and what isn’t. I would block the area off for a while and eventually he might lose interest in it. Rabbits don’t really need salt licks but I don’t think they’re bad for them either. Just usually considered unnecessary. I have a small one for my bunnies because she seems to enjoy it once in a while the rest totally ignore it.

Anytime your bunny eats something that may or may not be bad the recommended course of action is usually to keep an eye on them. If he shows signs of any tummy troubles or other issues then it’s vet time.

Thats what I read, I caught him with a string a carpet hanging out of his mouth last week I’ve since blocked off that area and he’s been fine.

Moogle is obsessed with finding ways behind the TV, in the bedroom, and behind my bf’s computer. These are the only places he’s not allowed to go Ashe is obsessed with pulling up this one corner of the carpet and getting behind MY computer desk, the only places SHE is not allowed. LOL I think they just like to see and taste test EVERYTHING they can get to and it drives them crazy if they can’t.

Yeah they’re just so darn curious about everything. He keeps coming right up to my grumpy old dog trying to say hi. Thankfully when I was a kid we had chicks in the house and other rodents and he learned when he was young not to harass the other pets lol. So I just tell him to be nice and he does. I think cappy, my bunny, thinks their buds now. Because he’ll hop right over and lay down next to my dog.
