My parents are allowing me one area of the yard as a "bunny yard". (I will soon be getting two indoor bunnies, but wanted to be able to bring them outdoors for some playtime.) My parents spray pesticide on the rest on the lawn, but have agreed to not do it on the "bunny yard". However, he area of the yard that I am planning on using was previously sprayed with pesticide before we decided to make a bunny yard. Does anyone know how long it takes for pesticide to go away/become rabbit safe again? Will it ever be safe, or should I remove the grass and replant new grass seed? Does pesticide go into the ground and make that entire area unsafe forever?

I won't take my bunnies out until I know that it is safe for them, but once I have a safe pen set up on a safe area of grass, they will be recieving carefully supervised play sessions outside.

I wouldn’t risk it at all. Even if your parents aren’t treating that area specifically it’s likely that some pesticide will drift into any bunny area you set up while they treat the rest of the lawn. I would just keep them inside where you know it’s safe. It won’t hurt them to be strictly indoor rabbits.
