I've been admiring Petco's cat scratcher castle for awhile, after I saw a post by Cheri. So now that's it's on sale (discontinued online) now was the perfect time to buy it! The bunting was more for my benefit than my bun's. He definitely loves the new castle and already started "remodeling" (ripping up the cardboard) to his taste. Also sorry for the butt picture it was the best I could do. Yeti was so excited he wouldn't stay still for a picture.

Because of your post, I ran out and hunted one down. So excited! Thanks for sharing!! Mine is not as cute as yours, but I'm hoping my fella will like it.

Hurray! This castle is ideal for rabbits. Although I know pet cat market is much larger in comparison. I knew mine would love it because he’s a cardboard chewing fiend lol.

Jo-Jo loved hers and now the boys have stormed the castle too! Enjoy!

These look great. : ) Not available is Aus tho.
Still, I’ve already pictured Gooseman in a knights helmet and Maple and Potamus up the top in fairy princess costumes. lol

LPT, I can totally see Olivia in one of these! And Bindi conquering (eating) the castle!

Surprisingly, mine hasn’t chewed it yet. Though he doesn’t chew much of anything so hopefully this will last him a long time since it is discontinued. Though this could all change in a few weeks when his hormones really kick in…we shall see.

I knew my guy was a chewer when I gave him his first cardboard box. Thankfully he doesn’t eat it. However I had to buy an extra cat scratcher insert to stop him from tearing up one side of the castle lol.

Wow those castles are really cool! I’ll have to build one for my bunny, Oliver! I have a couple questions for you all. Where do you guys get those wire cage walls? Right now Oliver is in a cage I bought and I really wanna make him a massive cage myself but I can’t seem to find a place that sells those wire mesh things that so many of you seem to have for cages. I was thinking about using some kind of foam or plastic for the flooring for easy cleanup. Ideas? Comments? I’m new to the world of bunnies and any help would be much appreciated!

                              Hi Robbie,
Welcome to BB! They are NIC grids. You buy them as customizable shelving sets.  I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond.  I was told that you could get them at Costco but I couldn’t find them.  I used zip ties to connect them.  Here is an image that Jerseygirl posted to my topic earlier.

Awesome I’ll have to go look for them! I know right now Oliver chews on the wire cage. Is this normal? Is it going to hurt his teeth?

It is normal, but best to find better things for him to chew on. Mine isn’t much of a chewer so finding things that he likes to chew is difficult. He only tends to chew on the bars when he wants out. Once you get a bigger cage set up this should diminish as mine doesn’t chew when he has a lot of space. Every bun is different though. So far he doesn’t even touch his xpen. He is just so happy with all the space he has. I am thinking of rubbing some fruit on his wood chews to see if that will entice him. Perhaps try that in the mean time. They go nuts for anything sweet.

The wire cubes can be found in Walmart and Target also.
                                      Whitmor brand at Walmart.
Not certain about target. Be sure to check contents of box at Target as the grids vary. Lots of people found they ended up with a mix of 1 1/2 inch and 3 inch size grid squares in the panels. You’ll want the panels with 1 1/2 inch squares for rabbits. So that’s 9 squares per panel like the image above.

Aww it’s discontinued?!! I just saw this post and would love to get one for my bun I’ll do some hunting, but in the meantime, what does the inside of the castle look like? Is there a step inside to get to that second floor where your bunnies are in the pics??

                                        Thanks for sharing!

The inside is a more of an open first floor (kind of hard to explain.) My bun just hops from one level to the next. There isn’t a step or ramp. If I remember when I get home I’ll try and take a pic. You might still be able to find some in stores. Petco Cat Scratch Castle. They have other cardboard houses for cats that I saw but they are one level so more of a hidey house instead. I would just call your local Petcos and see if they have any before you drive around. Took me about 30 min to assemble. Mine absolutely loves his and he doesn’t chew it so I foresee it lasting for a while. Fingers crossed!

Just going to jump in here:
For getting the cubes at Target, the target stores do not seem to have them (the grids are too large, they rabbit can fit through), but online, there is a type that has small enough grids. I just bought two packages about a month ago and they are small enough grids that I feel safe about it. Here is a link to the type that I bought at Target.com:
                                            http://www.target.com/p/set-of-4-storage-cubes-black-14/-/A-10474035#guest-reviews
                                            Hope this helps!

Also- Does anyone know if these castles are still available?  I was in the store tonight and didn’t see any in the store and I couldn’t find any online, but maybe I am missing it? I’d love to get one for my boys, I’m sure they would love it!

I got my grids at Bed Bath and Beyond $19.99 which I even applied a 20% coupon to it! (FYI: they accept the coupons even if they’re expired). But if you don’t have a store in your area to use a coupon and order online, $19.99 is still a pretty good price: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sto…orage+cube

Lucky Star – the castles are definitely discontinued online… I live in New York and tried 5 Petcos that I can get to and none of them had any more in the store  Whatever stock the stores had of it were placed in clearance during the last week of September so they may be all sold out by now  I did end up buying the Cityscape one also in clearance. I’ll post an update with pics once Simba product-tests it  hehe

Yohio completely ignores it, though. I suspect he uses my computer during the night when I sleep, and has happened to see your beautiful castles here on BB.
