I’ve notcied my bunny has some fleas, i’ve brushed him and nothing seems to come out in the brush but i can see them running over him ocasionaly and he itches. So i was at Petco the other day and i saw they had Ultracare i seen it was safe for all small animals i was going to purchase it but i didn’t want to waist my money on something that wasn’t safe for him. So i wanted to consult other people first.
Do you think this is safe for him. and other bunnies?

I wouldn’t use anything from a pet store. Either Revolution or Advantage is good for treating fleas on rabbits. I think you have to get those from your vet. They have kitten formulas, which are usually used for rabbits, and the dose depends on the rabbit’s weight. Never use Frontline.

You also have to make sure that you vacuum frequently, to remove the fleas and their eggs.  Fleas are only on the animal for a short while, and they hide in carpets, upholstery, on curtains, etc. the rest of the time.

You can also make a homemade flea trap to trap any fleas and to monitor if you have gotten rid of them or not.

I have never even heard of that brand, so I certainly can’t recommend it as safe or not-safe.

Can you call your vet on Monday and ask if you can use that over-the-counter product or if he/she wants to give you a Rx for a stronger/better treatment?
