Ok, so I’ve asked some questions and one thing I’m still unclear on is how much time per day I need to spend with my bunny or how to spend that time with him.

I usually pet him for a few minutes when he comes over, and occassionally get down on the floor for a few minutes with him, but I don’t know if I’m spending enough time with him or if he’s lonely.

I usually pet him until he hops off or until I can’t sit there anymore, but sometimes he just sits and looks at me like “where you going?”  Most of the time he just sits under the bed/on one of our recliners and doesn’t seem to need any attention.

        Any help?

If you’re able, I’d try sitting or lying down on the floor while you watch tv or read a book. I try to do this for about an hour or so every night and both of my rabbits will come over and investigate me and possibly ask for pets or nibble my book. Sometimes they will also just relax next to me, which I love. I also put out cardboard boxes and tunnels in different configurations every once and awhile and they entertain themselves exploring those. Really, I just need to move a box and it becomes like a whole new place for them that needs to be investigated. Might be a good (and free!) thing to try if you haven’t already to get him more active and engaged.

He could also just be really relaxed, low maintenance guy.

What exactly are you trying to do? Bond with your bun or give him company or…?
All buns are different. Some really want attention / a friend / love and others are more independent and could care less. You just have to spend time with him to figure which end of the spectrum he’s on and work with him in a way that works with his personality.
