Oh Dear, That’s one epic chew…. Right through the cable protector and the cable… There is another product specifically for buns and other chewers, it also has a bitter taste in addition to protecting the cable, you buy it by the roll… I’ll see if I can find a link to it.

Here it is… http://www.crittercord.com/ it can also be purchased on Ebay, at some pet shops and even a few electrical suppliers carry it…
My buns are going free range in the lounge soon so I intend purchasing several rolls.

Oh yay. Not only did I get to waste valuable luggage space hauling a giant roll of cable protector tubing back from vacation. Now I get to spend like 8 billion dollars in shipping to get new cord protectors. Best. Day. Ever.
Why did I ever want a bunny again?

Because they are beautiful and you love him dearly… My new Hifi arrived today, the other one no longer has any cables thanks to Pascal…

Ha, very familiar with this issue. The cost of electronics that have died are in the thousands which is why they are only free roam when I’m home… but yeah, the presents that I’ve woken up to. It’s amazing how my bun hasn’t died yet; I’ve gotten horrible shocks from handling her… projects.

The bitter stuff doesn’t work on my bun. Those cord protectors you have are the best of everything I’ve tried. I check them frequently and double up on it (one wrapped C while another layer is like a backward C so there are no seams that go straight to the cord). In addition to that, most cords, all the ones that aren’t lifted off the ground, are also blocked off by NIC panels. Still not 100% proof; she’ll squeeze her mouth/nose between the grids and push and push till she can grab a cord protector.

One of my rabbits chewed through a double layer of cord protection. I had the spiral wrap on first (which is very time consuming to put on) and that layer was covered by plastic tubing, the same kind as shown in bpash89’s post.
