        Hi there,

Smokey, my 4-year old Holland lop mix has been having egg-shaped poops today. The latest poop was a mix of these weird egg-shaped poops and somewhat normal round ones.

Here’s a picture of 3 of his normal poops next to the poops from today plus one of the litterbox.

I called the vet but his normal doctor is away, she said if we have an emergency over the weekend to call any time and we’ll get him right in but I’m not sure what to think. He’s always been prone to digestive upsets and has had stasis a few times but not for over a year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

        Thanks!

        Jordan

Have there been any changes in his diet? New anything?

We just started him on a new bag of Oxbow hay. He’s a fussy hay eater so even though I gradually switch between bags he’s been picking out the coarser pieces all day. Other than that no changes at all.

I see this with one of my buns all the time but I’ve never thought twice about it!

My thought was that perhaps something triggered something in his digestive system and the result was some weird poos. If it were me, I would just monitor things. Perhaps there was something different about that batch of hay and it made his system hiccup a little?

Thanks so much everyone! I’ll keep an eye on it but I’m not too concerned about it now. The vet didn’t seem to be either, even with his history

                    Is he moulting at all?

He’s always been prone to digestive upsets and has had stasis a few times but not for over a year.

Any teeth problems? Slow eating some foods or anything like that?

What colour is he? I know, odd question! :p

that is 1000% normal,,, are all yours the same size? no i didnt think so.
when we had snowblaze, he could consciously drop these 5x normal size milk duds just to spite us. he didnt do them any other time except when he was on the couch (or in play area at TTAS)
