When I first applied for thatcher his rescue was very helpful and he is even being taken to a closer humane society so I don’t have to drive 4-5 hours to pick him up. He was supposed to be neutered last Wednesday and got bumped due to emergencies. In leu of being told I would, I haven’t heard anything now, a week later and I’m supposed to pick him up Saturday. The woman is getting seemingly frustrated by my emails (I had some questions!) and I’m worried they are going to flake out on me…. I emailed them earlier today about everything but no response yet. /: I’m worried I’m not gonna be bringing my baby home.

Hmmm, I wonder if the emergencies are what is making her not so pleasant. Being a rescue worker can get really frustrating at times and I know sometimes these people get really upset and flustered when emergencies seem to be happening all at once. Although I have to admit, I’ve also met some down right nasty rescuers also.

Have you tried a phone call? So you can get all your questions answered in one shot rather than having to go back and forth with her?  It may give you a chance to explain you just want to make sure you have everything ready and right for his arrival and that you’re really excited to meet him… maybe that will make her soften up a bit if she’s having a bad day.

The nice thing about email is that it can be answered during “downtime” unlike a phone call. I would think she would find emails preferable over phone calls for non-urgent matters, but… who knows?

You DO need to know for a fact if the rabbit will be at the agreed-upon rescue for pick-up at the agreed-upon time/date. So at the very least, that is going to warrant a phone call, maybe on Friday?

If the adoption does end up falling through, you just have to think that it wasn’t meant to be, I guess… :o/
