         Hello Everyone,

I have had Fionna (silver fox dwarf)  for about a month and a half.  We adopted her from a shelter and she has adjusted nicely in our home.  we have a big cage for her thats nestled in a big pen, and we let her roam the house often which is bunny proofed. usually she will run around the house doing binkies in the morning and at night and the middle of the day she will sleep under the couch.  Today she was acting normal, she was digging like mad in a corner for 15 mins (one of her favorite things to do) but she decided to pee in that corner after!  She is litter box trained and i noticed when i put her in her cage after, she used the litter box like normal.  I don’t think she has a urinary infection because she’s not peeing all over the place anywhere else or anything.  Could this be territoral?  I’m just a bit confused. Please help.

Has she been spayed yet? How old is she?

I ditto Dobby, is she spayed and how old is she?

Yes, it could be territorial. Or something could have smelled weird and she wanted to cover it up with her own smell.

Yes she is spayed. we had her spayed before she came home with us. I washed the blanket and cleaned her cage today, but right after I did she peed to the left of the box and I haven’t seen her do this before. I cleaned it up and we’ll see what happens, but not sure what she’s doing.

Well if it’s just an isolated incident, I wouldn’t worry about it. Something could have caused her to become territorial. If it continues in that one spot, try putting a litter box there and see if that solves the problem. If she continues to pee in non-litterbox spots, I’d suggest a vet check as there may be something going on.
