So tomorrow Sheldon will be getting neuter. My mum will be taking him there and bringing him home as I’m at school. I’m so nervous! But it needs to be done…

He should be fine…. both my boys were neutered last year, and it went smoothly for both. They were a little sluggish for a day….and back to normal in a couple days. Actually better then before they went in for the procedure – because they stopped marking everything!

Try not to be too nervous…I’m sure he’s going to be in good hands. Just make sure the vet sends you home with some pain meds for the 1st couple days. My bunny Baxter LOVED the grape flavor pain medicine 🙂

Let us know how it goes! I’m estimating another month before mine will be ready, and I’m already nervous! I expect I’ll be a nervous wreck the entire time he’s out of my sight. lol

Apollo was done precisely when he hit 6 months! Not even sure if his jewels dropped He was fine though, totally spoiled at the vets, the nurses didn’t want him to leave, they took fabulous care of him! Like you, my mum took him in the morning but i got to go and pick him up with her! He was a bit delirious in the carrier, all hunched up and sleepy! I bought him home, tucked him up with his fleece and some water and food nearby… and little bunny was eating parsley and hay within the first 2 hours of recovery! Don’t worry!

The male rabbits usually recovery pretty quick but it’s only natural to be nervous. Just make sure he eats before he goes in. : )
                No fasting for rabbits.

                Good luck!

We’ve just got back home. The nurse said everything went really well! He ate his greens, hay and pellets after surgery I put him back in his cage, he went to the toilet a few minutes after getting back. He was licking where the wound is. Licking is fine isn’t it? I’m paranoid! But so far so good

Some gentle cleaning is okay but you want to make sure he’s not being aggressive with the area. Keep an eye on it closely for redness, swelling or bleeding.

                    Glad he made out well!

I had a look at Sheldon’s incision area by holding a treat up and looking at it with a torch. It doesn’t look inflamed, there’s a tiny bit of blood. Tomorrow I’ll most likely let him out for a run, I’ll have a better look then.

Tiny bit of blood is normal, but you may want to get a better look if you can. I called my vet when I noticed a little bit of blood on Bromley and they had me get a better look. Once my husband held him and we moved all the fur aside we saw that the incision was wide open. He chewed the stitches.

That makes me a little nervous…

So I just had a look. His bits look a bit swollen, about a 1.5cm in diameter. Apart from that though he seems absolutely fine. I’m going to ring the vet though just in case.

The vet suggested we come in, so we’ll be seeing her in about an hour or so.

She said everything’s fine The swelling should go down within a week or so. She was more concerned with the actual incision, but that’s fine too. *Breathes out* Glad everything is ok.
