I have a 10 week old lionhead bunny, and I just love her to death. Every day of the week, she has free roam of  my room, and she has lots of play time and is very social and loving. But one day out of the week, I can only get her out for maybe 30-45 minutes. My dad build her a VERY large cage, with two stories and lots of toys. Will leaving her in this for one day a week hurt her personality or harm her any other way?

I have to lock my bunnies in once in a while, and it doesn’t hurt them. Think of it as staying in the burrow on a rainy day.

She’ll be fine! We all have various schedules, some more busy than others. People work or go to school (or do both!) so sometimes certain days are a little “light” on exercise time, but it gets made up on the other days.

When she is older and spayed and more reliable (maybe around the one-year-old mark), you may find that she can actually be allowed to free roam in a bunny-proofed room. For now though, with her being so young, it is best that she’s confined when you can’t be around to supervise her.

She’ll be fine! Mine usually get free roam of their room while we’re home, and are in a large pen when we’re gone. Maybe one day a week or every other week they stay locked in their pen the entire day with no issues.

Occasionally mine can’t go out for long but seem to make up for it next time with countless binkies and zooming around the place. I usually out their food in paper bags, treat balls or stuff pellets in toilet tubes with hay so at least they can spend loads of their time burning off some energy!

Bromley is jealous of the small amount of time your bun is locked up lol.
