I have two rabbits. One of them is a little sassy and gives me attitude every once in a while. Sometimes when I am in her way, she gives me a little grunt and sometimes even gives me a little nip to tell me to move. Penelope is a really sweet  rabbit but she can be a bit bossy. Does anyone else have this happen to them. She even grunts at my other rabbit, Jonah when he jumps in the litter box with her. I think its just her giving me attitude but I was wondering what your thoughts are.

My bun definitely loves to grunt. Before he was neutered he would run around me in circles grunting all the time. Now he just grunts occassionally when he wants to be patted and I’m not being quick enough. It’s such a funny little noise!

Their grunts are adorable! Pongo will occasionally grunt at me while I’m trying to check his teeth and nails, and also when he senses false danger (which is also accompanied with a loud thump).

Also, concerning him grunting when he gets in the litterbox with your other rabbit, how long have they been bonded (assuming they’re bonded)?

Sounds just like my Olivia. She is always grunting at me for some reason or another. She doesn’t nip, though. She pummels me with her hands. So bratty but I love her rabbittitude. She actually makes me laugh with the grunting and pummeling. She tries so hard to be bossy and scary.

My rabbits have been bonded for around 5 months now and they absolutely love each other. Penny is just being grumpy and is a little bit sassy.

Mine still grunts occasionally. She was a mad grunter when her hormones kicked in (and it was a good early warning system that she was about to try and get amorous with my face again).

Generally she only does it when she is annoyed with something,
I haven’t given her a treat when I have come back from the kitchen (don’t know WHY she automatically expects one)
My kid has left toys on the floor and she can’t run as fast as she wants.
I have moved the kids toys and she has nothing to throw about.
I haven’t placed her frozen water bottle in just the right place.
I’m in ‘her’ spot, wherever that might be at that particular moment,

She boxed me the other day. I was shocked, she has never done that before and I was only walking past her. She probably felt insulted enough that I didn’t ‘greet’ her with a nose touch that she HAD to follow me and beat some manners into me

I refill my rabbits water bowls throughout the day with a flower watering can unless they need to be cleaned out. When I fill Helo’s he will sometimes grunt at the water being poured and stick his nose it it. He then will get mad at the water, I think for being wet, and will try to punch/box the stream of water being poured. I think this is hormonal and will probably fade now that he’s neutered but I’m almost sad to see it go. It’s really hilarious!

Inara loves to grunt at and chase my husbands hands when he tries to feed them/etc… She doesn’t bite though. I think this will also fade now that she’s been spayed.

My spayed/neutered bunnies very rarely grunt. If it does happen it’s usually at feeding time.
