Just wondering, I’m placing vinyl down on top of untreated wood as a base for my rabbit run. Has anyone else used vinyl/linoleum flooring for their rabbits? I’m thinking it would be easy to clean”

Absolutely! Get the wood and vinyl cut slightly larger than the pen so you have a lip a few inches (several cm) extending on each side, just in case the bunnies shift the pen.

Vinyl can be slippery, so look for something with some texture, or you could even get a few inexpensive rag rugs or fleece blankets that can be washed as needed.

I have vinyl in my buns condos. Like Beka says, make sure the floor is longer than the condos so they can’t chew it. It’s great to clean with just a bit of water and vinegar. I have “Snoozzy mats” over much of the floor to help prevent slipping and sore hocks.

Thanks for the responses! That’s great, I’m glad I’ve placed it down now as I had some doubts! They definetely can’t chew the vinyl as it’s all been covered! If it is too slippy for them I could always gain some friction by sandpapering over the flooring!
