I was thinking about making a toy for Coco using an old plastic Gatorade / Pepsi bottle filling it with some pelletes and maybe cutting some holes into it so the pelletes fall out. How does this sound? Would it be okay if he chews on the plastic?

Hmm, I would try something like this with a toilet paper roll or a paper towel roll. I would worry about him eating the plastic. It’s not healthy if they do. It’s a creative idea though – I like the concept!

I’m not sure what id put on the end of a paper towel/ toilet paper roll to keep the pellets in and He might decide to chew the whole cardboard and leave all the pellets.
I think if I wrapped a piece of like newspaper or catalog around the bottle to prevent him from chewing the plastic that may work

you can cut the toilet paper tube into rings and then criss cross them to make it into a ball. I’ve done this for my bun and she loved/hated it because it was difficult to get the treats out which meant she played with it for ages.

Hmm I might try that! So cut the toilet paper roll into horizontal strips then like place on ontop of the other?

Another option is filling a brown paper lunch bag with hay and sprinkle some pellets in there. The benefit with that is the bunny will end up eating hay as he’s trying to get at the pellets… And anytime we can get buns to eat more hay it’s a win-win!

You can try the bottle too, but I would only give that to him supervised because it is risky if he starts eating the plastic.

Bpash…. Do you have pictures of the TP roll ball? I’m having a hard time picturing that!

What I did was crumpled up a small piece of newspaper shoved it into one end, put some hay in it then some pelletes and put some more newspaper In the other end. He hasn’t showed much interest in it yet :/

My buns love to play with pop and juice bottles, I just make sure they are nice thick walled ones and supervise play time. If you don’t cut holes in it, it is unlikely they can ingest it. I try to use juice bottles because they are more rounded and don’t really have anywhere that the buns can grip it. Its really not any different then giving them plastic teething rings, cat toys, or igloos like many people suggest as long as it isn’t weak plastic. I put some pellets or bells inside and they roll and chase the bottle around.

                         I mean like this

I just do the rings a bit smaller and use more of them so the ball is tighter and therefore takes her longer to get it open.  I also don’t put it on string but you can do it however you want.
