  Okay so I have Bubba, my very first holland lop buck. I am going to be moving into my own place here in a month and would like to get myself a second bunny. I love Bubba and Im pretty sure I want to get another buck.
  
  Bubba is neutered and also DEAF. I dont know how many of you have had the priveldge of having a deaf bun but I love him even more for it. The only concern I have is the bonding of a deaf bun and possibly a new not deaf bun?
  
  Since im going to be getting a new buck (probably around 3 months old) I wont have him neautered till about 6 months of age. Im wondering if the bonding process will be a little more difficult during those few months with a neutered and un neutered buck running around the house?
  
  Bubba used to have a female sister when I lived with my old roomate, and they seemed to get along fine but they tried humping each other alot? and she normally won the humping war, mainly because he is so relaxed.
  
  I just need some advice please? thanks in advance!

  Hello TubbaBubba! Well – the recommendation is to withhold bonding, until both buns are fixed. Any progress made before baby bun’s hormones kick in can be undone, as hormones can (and likely will) lead to aggressive/territorial behavior. You can let them interact through gates…leaving enough room so they can’t bite each other, but become familiar with each other’s presence and scents. We also switched litter boxes, and their stuffed animals to further familiarize them to each others scents. Waiting to bond will also give baby time to become full grown..which usually takes 4 months.
  
  I have 2 bucks – and had them neutered around 4 months – so you may not have to wait long to start the bonding process, if you’re adopting a 3 month old buck. Best of luck!

  I would hold off on bonding until both bunnies are neutered.

  There’s no need to rush into bonding! Enjoy your time with the new bunny and work on your relationship with him, build trust, and get to know his personality. It would be nice for you to be able to bond individually with him. In a few months, when he’s neutered and healed up, then you can start bonding.
