Just a quick question as it’s not an emergency – just curious. My two holland lops know when I am angry and want them to stop what they are doing and or move from an area they are in. If they are near my cords, or walking into an area that I dont want them in – I change my tone of voice and eventually they listen and leave the area / stop chewing on things. However, when they leave the area after being reprimanded, they rotate there head a little as they are hopping. Not like a binky. This is a little different. They rotate their head less when they do the movement the ears barely move and they know they were just being bad. They have only started doing this recently (just turned 1 year old).

It makes me feel bad lol not sure if they feel ashamed, frustrated, or if they are actually binkying because they managed to irritate me and win hehe.

Nugget does the same thing and I usually take it as he’s mad that I’m yelling at him or preventing him from doing damage to my home. Like if you were to punish a little kid and they start yelling back “That’s not fair! You’re so mean!” Oh… if bunnies could talk lol.

I wonder if it’s a lop thing? Nuggetbuns, is your avatar your bun? I’m curious now, LOL!

Zeus does this, Hera does not. I think it’s them basically playing with you. Whenever I catch him doing something naughty, he flips his ears (I’ve heard it called a half-binky or a head binky) and runs off, waggling his tail at me. He thinks it’s great fun, silly bun.

Wooly does this too. Sort of a head binky, I guess. It is like his body is moving faster than his head when he first takes off running.

Yes, that’s Nugget in my avatar. I’m not sure if it has to do with being a lop, but more so with their personality. It does look like a half binky but not a happy one . Nugget flicks his head with annoyance and runs away in shame.

It sounds like a very small binky to me. Mine do the same thing. I think they find it fun to get into trouble 😛

Rupert does this, it’s like a half binky 180 from where he was or can be a more subtle head shake. It looks very cute – ‘Nothing, I wasn’t doing nothing’ It’s absolutely wonderful to have a rabbit who responds to tone, so that’s super! Means you don’t have to jump up and run over and chase them away if they are being naughty

Pongo does the exact same thing! When I use a stern tone of voice, he’ll sometimes hop away while doing the little half binky. It’s like he thinks it’s funny to irritate, because he’s back doing whatever it was a couple hours later lol

Not sure if it’s a lop trait or not, but Pongo -is- part lop.

When Muffin drops a pile of poops out of his litter-box (Or pees outside) he is extra snugly and tries to lure me away from the scene, when I find it, he hops away from me with little foot flicks.

I think it’s their own way of trying not to show their shame

Bella does that all the time when I tell her off for jumping in the pellet bin! She gives me stink eye for a sec, then jumps out of the bin, does a half binky, then hops away giving me foot flicks! Silly bunny!

Eddie does the head thing and Emma does the foot flicks. Funny how each bun has there own way of telling you they don’t like you just now.

Oh, Muffins way of telling me he doesn’t like me at the moment is pooping everywhere XD whenever I move his stuff he does it! Flicking his feet is just his way of saying, “Well you deserved it, now give me cuddles and feed me!”

But this is just another bit of proof that EVERY bunny is different!
