I am knew to bunnies.  This forum is great.   My daughter has two 4 mo old littermates.  It seems like overnight they started fighting.  They were neutered today.  They seem to be doing great.  The vet said to keep them apart for two weeks and then try putting them back together.  Is the bonding process the same for them as it would be for two rabbits who had not previously been together?

They are current sharing a room.  It’s the same room they used to be together in.  Would it make sense to switch which side of the “fence” they were on, daily maybe?

I don’t know if the bonding process would be any different, since I don’t have any personal experience, but I would suggest switching their litter boxes instead of swapping sides. Smelling their sibling in the litter box will help them get used to the other scent (again), but smelling the other bun *everywhere* in “their” space could be too much and make them feel the need to be territorial.

          Are they male/female, male/male, or female/female?

They are both males.   I will move the litter boxes.  One of them is marking.   This is new.  Should it stop now that they are neutered?   I really regret not getting them neutered before they fought.  They were doing so well with the litter box and each other.  I thought it would be ok to leave them until they were 5 mos old.

It takes 4-6 weeks for hormones to settle down after being neutered. Hormonal behavior/issues often fluctuate during that time.

After the 4-6 weeks I would go through with bonding as you would with any other rabbits.
