Hey everyone! i have a quick question: I’m visiting my dad this Sunday and only will be gone for about a day, ill be back
Monday evening, the trip is only and hour and 30 min, should I bring him?
Or will he be okay with just an extra water bottle and a ton of food? I’m worried about the heat
It’s been in the 100’s all week. Please help!

        Thanks,
        Emma

It really depends on your bun and how he/she deals with stress. If you had a pretty laid back bun then taking him/her with shouldn’t be an issue. Do you have someone to come check in on your bun Sunday night and/or Monday morning? If you do then there isn’t really any need for you to take your bun with.

I will have to agree with Skipper’s mama. Our Flemish Giant Blue loves car rides. he likes to stick his head out the window like a dog and watch the world go by. Gizmo just goes to sleep on car rides, the others do not like it at all! Your rabbits personality will be able to tell you how much stress he or she will go through in transit.

When I went to pick up my bunny, he didn’t seem to notice much, but he was only 2 months old at the time. Both times that we’ve taken him to the vet, he’s peed. That could be because there was no litter box, because of the car ride or because of being stuck in his carrier for 30 minutes.

With a 90 minute car ride, you might have to worry about the lack of litter box, as well.

I used to have my buns in a plastic carrier for transport with a towel for the bottom; they were terrified when in the car. After I got a stroller, I’ve been using it for transport and they actually don’t mind car rides any more. I don’t think it’s because of carrier vs stroller but because I have a litter box and a folded up fleece blanket inside the carrier as well as it being darker and just more cozy.

Bromley did not appreciate the 30 minute car ride he needed to take to the vet yesterday! I was shocked because he did so well when I brought him home at 5 weeks old.
