Hello, my 6 month old rabbit Klaus was neutered on Tuesday but he still isn’t quite himself.  The vet that did his surgery put an e-collar on him, due to a past experience with another rabbit who ate at his wound. The first 24 hours he barely touched any of his food, but would eat a few bites of hay or some herbs if fed by hand. He finally started eating some greens last night and seemed to be getting his appetite back. .Prior to that he had very little pill drops I would check for cecotropes, but when I offered them to him he would turn his head away and move away from me. I’m worried that the e-collar is causing him difficulty eating but also getting to his cecotropes. This morning when I checked on him, there was tons of cecotropes, but he wont eat them. Has anyone else had this experience or any adivice?

He probably is having a hard time getting to them with the collar on – I wouldn’t worry too much – once you take the collar off he will be able to eat them again. How long is the vet advising you to keep this on?

He suggested 4 days, and this is the start of day 3.

Well, this is what I would do – take the cone off while you can supervise him and see how he does – he may not fool with the neuter incision and be fine. If you feel you must put it on when you leave then do that.
