I finally found NIC cubes and  started making my new bunny condo yesterday

Ill try and upload a pic later I can’t work out how to make it smaller on my ipad.

Anyway I wanted to ask what flooring everyone uses for their condos? And what do you use to keep the door closed?

        Thanks

Most people use plywood with something covering it as flooring. The two things to remember when choosing flooring is clean ups (including potential urine accidents) and that little rabbit paws need something to grip, … so smooth flooring on upper levels should have something additional (like little rugs that have been firmly attached to the floor), particularly if they are going to jump between levels.

I got some of my best ideas after doing a couple of searches on this site. In fact one of the last things I read had me disassemble and rework the structure of the condo the day before I collected its new occupants. It was a real pain and I passionately wished I had read more before, but every time I move the condo out to clean around and under it I’m so glad I took the extra time trouble and cubes to put grids in under the actual flooring. I’ve been known to complain that I think a condo is one of those things you only know how you should build after you’ve made one. There are other things to take into consideration like dorr placement, and little details, … I really recommend a couple of searches. The information, suggestions and pictures available on Binky Bunny are wonderful!

          Best of luck!

We use a binder clip to hold the doors shut and we don’t have any additional flooring as we have tile.

I would personaly use these clips to hold the door closed . You can get these from walmart for a dollar in either the key chain section or the hardware section. As for the bottom of the condo I would prefer Linolium.

For the ground floor, I use Newspaper over cardboard, on top of the plywood. It’s the only level my bun has ever peed on, so for the other two levels, I just clipped on parts of a workmat. It was $40, and a bit of an impulse buy, because I was already buying everything else I needed for his condo. My bun HATES HATES HATES linoleum/tile, but that would definitely vary between rabbits.

To clip the door shut, I just got a couple simple clips used on dog leashes. (The exact kind pictured above.)
