I’m very new to bunny ownership. I found a dutch rabbit on my boyfriends neighborhood on June 23rd and I called her over to me and took her home. She had fleas, and her fur is thin and she was dirty. But overall she seemed healthy. I weighed her on my infant scale and she was 3 pounds and 11 1/2 ounces. Today I weighed her and she’s 3 pounds 5 ounces. In initially was giving her unlimited Oxbow Adult Rabbit pellets and Oxbow Oarchard Grass, and a couple handfulls of romane lettuce (havent been able to veggie shop yet, since i wasnt prepared for a bunny). But when she wasn’t eating much hay, and mostly pellets, I reduced them to 1/4 cup a day. Is the weight loss normal?

Firstly well done for bringing her in!
I would take her to the vets for a check up, Dutch rabbits can weigh from 3.5lbs to 5.5lbs (4.5 being the ideal but it varies for bun to bun). Your vet will be able to tell you more! If she’s been running around for a while she’s probably not eaten properly and may have picked up other parasites such as worms. A vet can check her over for dental problems, parasites and general illness and see if she has been microchiped as she may be someone’s beloved pet.
If she is underweight I would supplement her diet with alfalfa hay, unlimited pellets and introduce pellets until she’s a better weight.
In the meantime check out the rabbit info section. It has some great advice to get you and your new rabbit going.
          Hope this helps

I hope she didn’t get worms! Poor thing. Her poop is normal and she’s active and definately has an appetite. She’s already memorized the sound of her food and hay bags. The area I found her in is filled with cottontails so I’m thinking she got dumped
