Would it be ok to burn one of those mosquito repellent candles while outside with the bunnies? It covers like 20 feet so they will definitely be in the bubble of the candle fumes that repel mosquitos.

My motto always is “when in doubt, don’t.” That goes for your question, foods, activities, etc.

I think you’d be much wiser to either keep them out of range, like inside, or to use contact repellent on individual skin, then don’t let them lick you. Any airborne chemical that is inhaled can be potentially harmful. Even our exterminator uses a sort of fast-drying liquid spray that is quite focused on floors and corners, away from anyone’s chance of inhaling or touching it.

          Sorry, but that’s my view.

I agree with Pam. That stuff is very strong and bunnies are super sensitive.

If you’re talking about citronella, this eHow article makes it sound like it’s a no-no (since they use it to repel rabbits from eating crops). Not sure how reliable eHow is, but here’s the site in case you want to read it:

                  What about lavender?

Is lavender mosquito repellent? If so, I will just plant a bunch of lavender!

Well, that is what some people say.

From what I’ve heard of lavender blocks their ability to “smell” and can act as a repellent. I’ve never tried it, just read about it.

That is how Citronella works too. Since lavender is bunny safe, I thought perhaps it is worth a shot.
