For the back story on my bunny, see here: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/125424/Default.aspx

My Mini Rex Guenivere doesn’t seem to know what a ‘toy’ means. I’ve given her all sort of stuff: card board rolls, boxes, blankets, big fuzzy cat toys, small cat toys, things made of plastic, bird toys… and she ignores every single one. Her idea of ‘playing’ is: Hop around the room. Determine who might have food. Go to that person. If they won’t share, bite them. Run away.

The only thing she would vaguely play with is a small metal food bowl. And this she plays with by flipping over and throwing around, should it be out of food if she wants food. Getting the picture?

So I’m at a loss for trying to find something for my neurotic bun to play with. She’ll happily chew – and then eat – the heck out of lose-leaf paper, but I’m not sure that’s good for her. Ditto for pieces of carpet; but she’s ignore wood all day long. For some reason she seems to like to attack the plastic guitar of our game system, and she chewed one of our remote controllers to death before we learned to hide those.

Any ideas? Would really like to find a toy for this crazy animal.

If she likes to chew than apple wood or willow chews might give her something to do. For bunnies that like to toss stuff around baby keys, stacking cups, and interlocking rings are nice. Some bunnies do try to eat them (mine are chewers but haven’t chewed the baby toys at all) so it’s something to watch for.

experiment, experiment, experiment. There are tons of diy toy threads on here, just try some out and see how it goes. My bunny isn’t much of a fan of toys either, they have to have a treat hidden inside or she usually isn’t interested at all. But all you can do is try.
I give her a toilet paper roll and she just stares at me, I give her a toilet paper roll stuffed with hay or cut up into rings and shaped into a ball with a banana chip inside and she goes nuts. Look around on the threads and I’m sure you can find something cheap and easy that she will irrationally love despite how similar it is to all the other toys you have offered her in the past.

Great idea to make a ball from toilet roll. My little one is finally playing. Loves it. Thank you! x
