So, I just moved my neutered male into a NIC condo, and the floor is covered with poop. He pees in his litterbox and poops a little but most of the poop lands outside. His litterbox habits weren’t perfect before the new cage, but now they are horrible. I know some of it is territorial marking but not all of it. I don’t know what to do. Can someone give me some advice? I feel like he has gotten so much messier since his neuter, he also digs out all of his hay onto the ground and then refuses to eat it.

How long is it since the neuter? The first month or even up to 8 weeks after a neuter, the new “situation” in his brain and body, (when they “learn” to adapt to the change in the flow of sex-hormones) is more or less chaotic. Some bunnies get MORE sexual after a neuter – for a short period, before the hormones subside. (Drop-marking is sexually related behaviour). My bunny even sprayed urine after his neuter, he NEVER sprayed urine before. But that was just once or twice, then his litter-box habits started to improve, poop went in the box instead of being scattered most everywhere.

It’s been 9 weeks since his neuter.
