I wrote a few months ago about Bun, my year old lop boy. He passed suddenly and in my arms. I still struggle with his passing and shed many tears over him. We recently welcomed a 9 week old lop into the family. His birthday is the same day as Buns passing so I took that as a sign. His name is Boon and he is starting to bring joy into our house.

A week after we welcomed Boon I had the most vivid dream about my beloved Bun. I was suddenly on a hill under a huge tree. It was summer, the shade of the tree was perfect but it was also fall, leaves on the ground crunching. That’s what I heard when I saw him, my Bun. He came over to me and I pet him and hugged him and said how sorry I was that I couldn’t save him. A woman was there also, long, dark hair all in white. She sat with me and told me Bun didn’t blame me and is happy And will always love me. Then, they were gone along with the whole scene and I woke up, crying and crying. I was so shaken up, disoriented, happy, sad, every emotion you can have! It did make me feel more at peace. I like to think he came to me with his angel or something to let me know it was ok to accept Boon and love him and stop feeling guilty. Maybe just a silly dream, maybe something more, but I wanted to share it. I hope his spirit is alive and waiting for me someday. It sure wouldn’t be heaven without him.

Bun, I miss you everyday and I still love you so very much. Please visit me again so I can see your face and give you a pet.

Absolutely! A psychic I met after Spockie died told me that I would know he was near me if I felt a little tickle at the top of my head, and that he was going to help me find “the right new bunny” for me. I am sure he saw Samantha and said “wow! she’s gorgeous, get her!” The scene you describe sounds like over the Rainbow Bridge. I think your bunny and his spirit don’t want you to dwell in the grief, but enjoy your new baby bunny and realize that you are loved by Boon as well as the new baby.

I very strongly believe that when you dream of your pets, it’s them visiting you. They can only communicate with us during our sleep as we are more open to receiving them. I dream of my Bridge babies often and it always leaves me with a good feeling afterwards.

(((((Hugs))))) You never truly stop missing them, they will always stay in your heart but your heart can move on and love others.

Some people think pets have no souls, but THEY DO. they go to heaven too. if they didint have souls, how could they lick us in love and even show affection??? DUH.

I’m crying now… Thank You for sharing
I know that animals have souls,

My dad is always serious and he didn’t think that pets had an afterlife, I argued that animals were part of God’s creation and he loved us all so we all go to heaven. (A similar explanation for someone who doesn’t believe in God: We are all on the same planet, so why are consciences exclusive to humans?!)

But the first day I brought home Muffin, I found him sitting in front of his cage smiling. Through the entire week until he left the province for work he kept coming to watch him, and kept smiling. All he would ask me is “Is Muffin Out?” and if he was my father would watch him. At the and of the week when he had to leave he said to me “You know you take good care of Muffin, I know it is hard at times, but he is very lucky and after he is gone, I know he’ll still visit you.”

People who say animals don’t have souls have never actually observed them or given them a chance.

Thank You for sharing, Bun was a lucky bun and hopefully he will keep binkying in your dreams.
