I recently got an 8 week old male Holland Lop. He seems to like to be pet and even held. I chose him because when I tried to put him back down after picking him up the first time, he didn’t want to go down, he scurried more into me and snuggled against me. He did this multiple times. I know rabbits aren’t supposed to like being held but Stan (that’s his name) really seems to love being held, sit on my lap and be gently pet.

Stan is EXTREMELY laid back. He’s not the slightest bit bothered by my mom’s miniature poodle, even when she tries to lick his face. He doesn’t startle easily and is a very calm bun so far as I can tell.

Anyway, he fell asleep on me again when I was petting him today. Woke he awoke, he licked my hand a TON (awesomeness!) and then when I sat up, about 30 pills fell off my lap.  I don’t mind. I just thought it was odd. He’s VERY different from my other 2 rabbits (they don’t even seem to like being pet anywhere and they tense up when you touch them; they were sold to me as Netherland Dwarfs but now that they are almost full grown, they cannot possibly be Nethie’s; I’m thinking they are small breed Polish mix).

Is this just regular “bunnies have no control over their bowels” or is he marking his territory (me) or is he just going because he’s very comfortable and relaxed on me?

I’m guessing he’s not neutered since you just got him. If not, the situation is probably that he’s marking your lap. He sounds like a very sweet and lovey bunny. Does he seem normal, otherwise? Good appetite and energy levels?

No, he is not neutered. Otherwise, he seems normal. Appetite and stools are fine. When I let him run, he zooms around.
