We have had Rosco for 2 weeks.  He is really sweet.  Still not much personality.  Had him nuetered last Thursday and he did good.  Like I have mentioned before, he doesn’t do much but lay around.  He doesn’t chew on any of the toys I have provided for him nor anything else.  He does have good eating habbits and does well eating his hay/veggies and pellets. (He excels at eating craisins and will crawl in my lap for them! Wish I could feed him craisins around the clock! lol)  Is the hay enough to keep his teeth healthy and not grow too long since he doesn’t chew on anything else that is rough?

Hay is what keeps their teeth healthy and their gut not chew toys.

Now, I’ll be honest some rabbits despite being good hay eaters may have dental problems but the best thing is always hay for the teeth as the chewing motion of the hay is what keeps the teeth “filed” down.

It sounds like he is a sweet, laid back bunny, which can be very fortunate in the long run. Assuming his teeth are fine with his hay and pellet consumption, you may not be finding his favorite type of play toy.

Many bunnies don’t play by chewing (I wish!) but love to climb, or dig, or burrow. So you can try other types of toys for him to stimulate him. Make him a diggy box out of shredded paper in a cardboard box and hide a craisin in there, then see if he goes in and tries to find it.
Also, if he like tunnels, a willow tunnel may be fun for him, and he may decide to chew its edges – also good for his teeth.
Just watch him and see what kind of thing he seems to do in the morning and evening, when bunnies are the most active.

Thanks for clearing that up sarita. I also wanted to know if when rabbits are first born till about 2 years old if they aren’t on a proper diet. Then become on a proper diet can that affect there teeth later on?

So funny when I walked out into his room this morning he was pushing one of my sons wiffle balls around.  The first time I have seen him play with anything.  He is so stinking cute…
