        1.  My rabbit was named by my four year old and her full christian name is Princes Ashley Marie, however we call her Ashley.
        2.  I believe my rabbit to be about 6 months old.
        3.  Our bunny has been with us for about 3 months.
        4.  Our bunny has yet to be spayed.
        5.  Our bunny has free range of our near-rabbit proofed house with the exception of the bedrooms.  She loves running around and is happy to play almost all day (and all night X>)  Not sure if I should really let her do that.  She is very good about urinating in her own cage
        6.  We are brand new to rabbits and have so many questions, we’ve taken ashley to a vet already and know that she is good and healthy.  Next month we plan on purchasing exotic pet insurance so we can offer her the best health care available.

Anyway I’m happy to hear back from anyone, I am sure I will be posting questions and sharing stories in the near future.

How about getting Ashley a second litter box, one outside and further from her cage, so she doesn’t have to run far whenever she needs to go. Just my humble suggestion.

If you’re not having any problems with her urinating in other places I wouldn’t worry about another litter box. She seems to be doing fine by what you are currently doing!

Would love to see pictures of your girl! And feel free to ask any questions – everyone on these forums are excellent about helping out all the new people who have lots of bunny questions!

That sounds like an excellent setup! I wish I could do that for my bunnies

Also I’d suggest getting her spayed soon, she is about to hit her teenager months, and may stop using her litter box if not spayed.

Thanks for all the kind suggestions! I’m probably going to need a lot of help raising this rabbit, I failed to mention that my wife bought her on a whim but I have since decided to take raising her very seriously. I have many great photos that I will upload when I get back to my regular computer.
How soon should I get my rabbit spayed. How much did that cost you folks?

6 months old is the perfect time for spaying. As for cost – my first girl cost me $350 but if you search around with rescues in your area you can probably find some low cost spay programs!

My 2nd girl is currently our foster and her rescue is doing her low cost spay for $65! So
It’s worthwhile looking into for sure!

just got back from the vet, apparently we have a female instead of a male so the cost of the neutering / spaying will be higher -_-
                      the estimate is:
                      290$ for the operation
88$ for the blood test (optional)
                      +taxes
                      (CAD$)
my girlfriend have the estimate with her but the amount was around that.

my bun have 3 months and as we tought it was a male we went for an appointment but I read that males can be neutered as soon as the testicles descend, usually around 3-1/2 months of age.

Females can be spayed as soon as they sexually mature, usually around 4 months of age, but many veterinarians prefer to wait until they are 6 months old, as surgery is riskier on a younger rabbit.
